Artist: Zachary Dempster

Confronting Bodies: ABC No Rio art collective.

Dates of Action: April 2007

Location: ABC No Rio

Description of Artwork: An homage to the anti-street art interventions taking place in NYC. A can of house paint hung by picture frame wire in a gallery with a Swoon poster.

The Incident: The collective, under the dominant voice of Steven Englander, removed a piece from the 'Hidden' show in ABC No Rio's gallery. The reason given for its removal was that the installation antagonized a street art piece --and there for the artist who made the piece-- that permanently hangs in the ABC No Rio gallery.

Results of Incident: The piece was removed before it could be installed.
