Description of Artwork: The piece is an impressionistic painting of a seated nude.

The Incident: The Marin County Civic Center had the piece on display as a part of an exhibition, when an unnamed county employee complained that the piece's presence constituted a hostile work environment. The piece was moved from the first floor, where the employee worked, to the third floor in response. However, the employee continued to complain, and the piece was removed from the exhibit.

Results of Incident: After a letter of complaint from the NCAC, as well as vociferous objection from the artist, the Marin Arts Council elected to place the painting back where it had been originally.
