Description of Artwork: The book contained some cartoons featuring the image of Muhammad, in reference to the 2005 Danish cartoon controversy.

The Incident: Yale University Press pulled all cartoon images of Muhammad from the book, citing concern that the images could instigate violence "somewhere in the world." No actual threats of violence were ever received or reported.

Results of Incident: In spite of a letter from NCAC and numerous others voicing their concerns about this act of censorship, the cartoons remained absent from the book.
