Description of Artwork: Mancrunch.com is a gay men's dating website. The advertisement in question featured two men watching the Super Bowl and kissing.
The Incident: The ad was created to be aired during the 2010 Super Bowl, but was turned down by CBS, who released this statement. "After reviewing the ad - which is entirely commercial in nature - our Standards and Practices department decided not to accept this particular spot. As always, we are open to working with the client on alternative submissions." [1]
CBS has had a history of rejecting politically charged and controversial advertisements, as was the given explanation for rejecting MoveOn.org's 2004 Super Bowl commercial. However, in this same year, CBS accepted an anti-abortion commercial from Focus on the Family.
