Artist: Biggie Smalls

Confronting Bodies: Radio stations across America

Date of Action: September 2001

Location: United States

Description of Artwork: Juicy, popular song on rapper Biggie Smalls' 1994 album Ready To Die.

The Incident: "Now I'm in the limelight 'cause I rhyme tight Time to get paid, blow up like the World Trade." Shortly after the terror attacks made on September 11, 2001, this line in the song was considered insensitive. Though the song was released in 1994, 7 years before the occurrences of 9/11, the line was censored by radio stations across the country.

Results of Incident: No action has been taken against the censorship of the song and it can still be heard in it's edited version today.
