Description of Artwork: The piece features a life-size depiction of a black-hooded bride with wax dipped hands.

The Incident: The piece was banned from the Thirroul's annual art festival. It was seen as "inappropriate" by the festival committee. The Wollongong City Council stated, "As such, the committee is responsible for decisions regarding which works will be placed on public exhibition. A council officer has concurred with the festival committee’s right to select the works that will be exhibited." However, the Council is claiming that the festival committee is the one who wanted the piece gone, while the committee members are stating that the Council was the one who first suggested to get rid of the piece.

Results of Incident: The piece has been banned from the festival, but the source of banning is not clear.
