Description of Artwork: The episode, Heart of Darkness, tells the story of an investigation into the death of a 16 year old asian girl. When it emerges that the girl was a victim of an “honor killing”, DCI Stone is told by his bosses to treat the case sensitively.

The Incident: The BBC compliance department asked the producer to remove some of the lines pertaining to the honor killing from the script, citing concerns that the lines suggested that the muslim community as a whole condones honor killing.

Results of Incident: The episode aired with the lines removed.
