Description of Artwork: UnWholly is a young adult novel by Neal Shusterman. The main character, Cam is a product of unwinding; made entirely out of the parts of other unwinds, he is a teen who does not technically exist. A futuristic Frankenstein, Cam struggles with a search for identity and meaning and wonders if a rewound being can have a soul.

The Incident: The parent of a student at Murray Middle School in Murray Kentucky complained that the novel was inappropriately dark and disturbing and wished to have it removed. The principal of the school, following no formal review process requested that the teacher stop teaching the book.
