Description of Artwork: Artist Lee Ha creates satirical pop-art posters featuring political figures and posts them in downtown Seoul, most notably his caricature of Chun Doo-hwan, former South Korean president. Chun Doo-hwan is holding a check for 290,000 won while in handcuffs.
The Incident: Lee Ha was arrested for posting this caricature of Chun Doo-hwan and was fined 100,000 won for "posting an illegal flyer." In response, Ha refused to pay the fines as he "did nothing wrong" and has since filed his own case against prosecutors.
Results of Incident: Lee Ha has continued making his satirical pop-art posters, despite attracting the attention of South Korean police.
