Description of Artwork: Danilo Maldonado Machado, also known as El Sexto, is a Cuban street artist.
The Incident: The morning of Fidel Castro's death, Danilo Maldonado Machado celebrated in the streets of Havana. He posted a video on his Facebook page in which he walked the deserted streets of Havana calling Castro a yegua and called upon the public to join him in his celebration of Castro's death. Shortly after the Facebook video went viral, the police forced themselves into his apartment and detained him, as he showed "Down with Fidel! Down with Raúl!"
Results of Incident: He was detained for a few days in Guanabacoa, a municipality of Havana. His relatives said that the Cuban authorities were trying to silence the voices of dissidents during the nine days of mourning ordered by the government.
