Description of Artwork: “Mother and Daughter II” (2014), is a composite of four images showing the artist, Diane Ducruet, cuddling with her daughter. Both of them are nude.

The Incident: Seven people sent letters of complaint addressed the curator Françoise Paviot, Diane Ducret and Louis Pinte. In these letters is written, that the pictures are having nothing to do with any kind of love and that they are showing incest, heresy and pedophilia and are offending victims of incest.

Results of Incident: Houard, the owner of the gallery halls, contacted the Mois de la Photo general curator and Maison Européenne de la Photographie director Jean-Luc Monterosso, who advised her to remove Ducruet's work. After she removed it, because she didn't want to run the risk of vandalism, Monterosso has denied any involvement with the decision.
