Description of Artwork: The artwork showed high-heeled shoes on prayer mats.

The Incident: The artist withdrew her artwork from the exhibition, after a local Muslim federation warned of possible violence because of the Paris attacks, and that it could lead to “uncontrollable, irresponsible incidents”. Instead the artist replaced it with with a video installation showing belly-dancing to the French national anthem, with swirling red, white and blue shawls symbolising the national flag.

Results of Incident: The artwork was withdrawn and replaced with a different artwork.
