Apple’s rejection of the Drone+ app was covered by various news and media sources. The developer, Begley, attempted to adjust the app for the iOS app store after each rejection, yet Drone+ was continually rejected. It has been widely noted that Apple has received lucrative contracts with the U.S. Department of Defense. Apple has reversed the rejection decisions over many Apps after receiving public backlash and negative publicity, but Drone+ is still unavailable through the App Store. +

Atena suffered a heart attack in February of 2015 as a result of a hunger strike she held in prison. She has since stopped her hunger strike, but her health remains precarious.
On May 19, 2015, Atena was tried and sentenced to 12 years and 9 months in prison.
She was imprisoned for 18 months. Amnesty International considers her a prisoner of conscience. She was released May 3rd 2016. +

Author Cory Doctorow took to his blog BoingBoing.net, bringing attention to his online community about the banning of his book. NCAC sent a letter to the school district in opposition to the censorship and canceling the summer reading program.

Author Cristina Garcia was surprised as she said the novel has never generated this sort of controversy before. She told The Associated Press on Thursday that students shouldn't be deprived of a broader, cultural experience. Nevertheless, the book has been removed from the curriculum.
Superintendent Kriss Hagerl says had the district been aware of the book's content, they would have had teachers provide an alternative option, and now she plans on going through a more in depth process of learning a book's content before selecting it for the school's curriculum. +

BART offered to feature the other three panels. De la Rosa viewed the fourth panel as integral to the work and refused. In late October, in a guerilla action, De la Rosa and supporters placed copies of the panels on the plaza display cases at the 16th St. station and spoke with local residents about the work.
On December 4, 2015, the American Civil Liberties Union of Northern California and the National Coalition Against Censorship submitted an open letter to BART, arguing that the refusal to place one of the four panels of La Gente De Tu Barrio because some official may have subjectively found it "demeaning" was viewpoint discrimination and violated the First Amendment.
